Temperature investigation of the energy resolved charge density wave in YBa2Cu3O6.55
In recent years the competition between different ground states has become a central point in many theories of high-temperature superconductors. In YBa2Cu3O6+x (YBCO), a three phase competition between charge order, spin order and superconductivity has been observed. The charge density wave (CDW) in YBCO has been measured by the means of x-ray diffraction, but the energy width of the quasistatic excitation cannot be determined accurately due to the large energy resolution. In this experiment we propose to study the CDW using neutron diffraction with energy resolution lower than 0.1meV from 2 to 300K.
