Title

Anisotropy of magnetic excitations in the spin-reoriented phase of Ba0.75K0.25Fe2As2

Abstract

Spin resonance modes in the superconducting phases of FeAs superconductors exhibit several features that cannot be explained with the simple standard spin exciton picture, in particular pronounced anisotropies. So far only very little hole-doped materials could be studied although the relation to the recently discovered spin-reorientation seems most interesting. The anisotropy in Na doped BaFe2As2 does not follow the reorientation, but near the suppression of AFM order there is an extraordinarily strong and anisotropic resonance mode emerging in the superconducting state. In contrast an INS study on Na doped SrFe2As2 revealed fully different behaviour with an anisotropic high-energy mode. We therefore wish to analyse another hole-doped material that also exhibits the spin-reorientation and is situated close to full suppression of antiferromagnetic ordering. 25% K-doped BaFe2As2 is ideally suited and a very large amount of sample mass could already be grown.
