Polarisation analysis of magnetic excitations in the SDW phase of Sr1.5Ca0.5RuO4
Magnetic excitations in a spin-density wave (SDW) phase have been rarely studied although the coupling between static and dynamic moments can imply peculiar modes such as the Fincher-Burke mode in Cr. Sr1.5Ca0.5RuO4 exhibits SDW order appearing at the q-positions, where pure Sr2RuO4 shows dominant magnetic fluctuations. We propose to perform polarized INS experiments across the SDW ordering in Sr1.5Ca0.5RuO4 profiting from the excellent experimental conditions in this material. We thereby hope to separate longitudinal and transversal modes (with respect to the static order) as function of temperature.
