Title

Crystal structure of lanthanide calcium oxyborates Ca4LnO(BO3)3

Abstract

Lanthanide calcium oxyborates with formula Ca4LnO(BO3)3 (Ln = Y, La-Lu) are of interest for high temperature piezoelectric applications as well as display screen phosphors. We wish to examine the crystal structure, especially boron and oxygen atomic positions, as a function of lanthanide ionic radius and to investigate the possibility of site disorder between the Ca and Ln ions.
