Title

Investigation of high pressure phase in multiferroic perov- skite DyMnO3 by using CryoPAD and Hybrid-Anvil-Cell

Abstract

In ths proposal, we propose to perform spherical neutron polarimetry analysis experimet under high pressure condition, by using our developed non-magnetic Hybrid-Anvil-Cell. The purpose of this study is to clarify the magnetic ordering in high pressure phase of multiferroic DyMnO3, which shows a giant ferroelectric polarization of ~1.0 micro C/cm^2 oder. In our previous experiment on IN20 in September 2018, we succeeded in measuring the pressure dependence of neutron polarization matrix as well as k-vector up to 5 GPa for single crystal samples of DyMnO3. We could observe tendency that one of matrix elements significantly changes above ~ 4 GPa, which indicates that Dy spin ordering gradually changes from spiral to collinear structure. However, in the previous experiments, due to limitation of machine time, I have not measured the complete set of pressure dependence beyond 5 GPa. Therefore, it is indispensable to perform additaional experiments above 5 GPa, in order to clarify magnetic ordering in the high pressure phase of multiferroic DyMnO3
