Title

The pressure dependence of the boson peak in deeply cooled confined water.

Abstract

Aim of the proposed experiment is to study the pressure dependence of the boson peak intensity and shape in deeply cooled confined water. A silica xerogel (three dimensional disordered hydrophylic matrix) will be used as confining medium; experiments will be extended to different hydration levels in order to disentangle the contributions from matrix, water on the pore surfaces and "internal" water. The results are expected to give clear-cut experimental evidence of the Liquid-Liquid Transition in deeply cooled confined water and of its relation with the boson peak.
