COLLECTIVE DYNAMICS AT INTERMEDIATE LENGTH SCALES: EFFECTS OF INTRA-MOLECULAR CROSS-LINKING
In a previous NSE experiment we have characterized the collective dynamics of polytetrahydrofurane in a wide Q-range including the intermediate length scales region. A crossover from being dominated by diffusion to being dominated by the viscoelastic coupling between stress and density fluctuations has been observed at Q approx. 0.6A-1. For a melt where the same chains are internally cross-linked, this crossover is shifted toward much lower Qs and is not accessed by IN11c; at such length scales, we observe structural heterogeneities by SANS. Here we want to explore the collective dynamics of two polymer melts and the internally crosslinked counterparts in a wide Q-range pushing toward low Q-values, to properly characterize such a dynamic crossover and the impact of the induced heterogeneities on it.
